“CCC” (not to be misread as CCA, har har) is a comic by Alejandro Cordova Olvera, also known as the alias “Vinnie Veritas”. I mentioned this comic because I love it. A lot:

I was first entranced by it when I actually saw his flash videos first (read lower about it). He used a mouse to draw the images frame by frame, a very tedious process that was well rewarded. Later I found his pencil drawings of the comic (which were INCREDIBLY detailed), and although in spanish, I’d still look at the drawings. Then the artist translated it, and it got even better. I have drawn a bunch of fanart for him, and decided to mail the ones that I could still find in my room for him! Mailed artwork all the way to Mexico!

He sent me a photo of it when he got it! Awww…look how damn happy he is :P

Here’s some information about the comic itself (taken from the website):

“Almost 7 years ago I started working on a project where I would put everything I had drawn, characters, concepts and nonsense that came up while I was growing up .. it was so much I chose a city to put it all in. Like all people who draw, I abandoned many comics and concepts that I thought, sucked.. but I promised myself when I was around 19 years old that I would not abandon this one”

CCC is originally a comic in spanish, but a while ago the artist translated it all into english, which is great. The dialogue in the english version is hilarious and awesome. I don’t mean grammer or typos, I just mean the dialogue:

The drawings are quite unique. Perky characters with designs that make no sense in real life, yet totally awesome because it doesn’t. Vampires, robots, voodoo, umbrellas, and more! Oh, and did I ever mentioned he made a bunch of awesome flash videos too?

I would say this is very impressive work for a guy who was doing it with a mouse (recently got tablet though, let’s see what’s coming up next time!)
